Building the Office of WPRRA at West Papuan Town

The first West Papua Town is in Port Moresby, Gerehu Stage 1, at Keni -Vani Road, Baratahu Gerehu, Port Moresby, National Capital District, Papua New Guinea. The building of the office started in 2020 and still not completed so far. We are raising a total of USD10,000.00 to finalize the office. We have spent about USD6,000.00 and completed major parts of the office. It needs completing work, such as diving the room, windows and doors fittings, as well as toilets and office furnutures.

Local Church Youth Helping build the office

The building of the office has been done by the direct manpower support from the Local Church Youths, the Mount Zion Congregation Youths of the Papua New Guinea Lutheran Renewal Church.

The youths have contributed the manpower to build the office, and officer of the Refugee Relief as well as patron of the organisatin contributed some finanance.

Two foreign sources of Donations came from Ms. Dolly-Karoba-Derey and her children in the Netherlands, and Yikwanak Modla in the United Kingdom of Great Britain. From Papua New Guinea, Mr. Wewo Kotokay also contributed greatly to the starting and completion of the Office and house.

The office and house of the officers are not yet completed, we request support from donors, families and friends around the world to complete the building of office and house of the officers.

The West Papua Land with the size of 19.5 hectares was donated by the Papua New Guinea Government to West Papuan Refugees, under the umbrella of WPRRA (West Papua Refugee Relief Association). Chairperson of WPRRA, Mr. Elimar Gombo says all Melanesians from West Papua are very grateful for the wisdom of PNG leaders, particularly Prime Minister Peter O’Neill and NDC Governor Powes Parkop as the Patron of WPRRA.

The funding for the office and complex of the office workers still required in order to complete all processes of building.
